Virtual Mirror

We show a system to visualize customized shoes. It allows the user to virtually see himself in a mirror wearing shoes, that do not exist in reality, but can be designed for him by the provider. The image in the virtual mirror is generated with a configuration tool, which applies high-end augmented reality techniques. It combines real video content with computer generated images in real time. The augmentation is embedded in the concept of the mirror, so that there is no need for additional equipment. The user just steps in front of the Virtual Mirror. The Fraunhofer HHI has a long history of highly sophisticated image processing research and developments that permits to develop such highly innovative systems.

Mobile TV and Content Encryption

DVB-H and DMB are upcoming standards to broadcast audio-visual content to mobile handheld devices. Broadcasters world-wide see the opportunity to create and enter a new mass market by providing paid, interactive media services to a growing end-user community. Cryptography & key management are required to protect broadcasting channels from unauthorized access. Mobile TV solutions that are currently introduced in the market and in various field-trials all over Europe are empowered by the HHI system for content encryption and key management based on the open standards SimulCrypt and ISMACryp.
